Bridgeton Woman Killed After Tesla Runs Red Light in Upper Deerfield, NJSP Says

Four Others Seriously Injured in Cumberland County Intersection Collision

A 38-year-old Bridgeton woman was killed and four other people were seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash at an Upper Deerfield Township intersection Saturday evening, according to the New Jersey State Police.

What happened

State police said a 72-year-old woman from Vineland was driving a Tesla northbound on County Road 553 when she failed to stop at a red light, made a right turn, and struck a Honda traveling westbound on County Road 552 just before 5:55 p.m.

The intersection is also described in reporting as South Woodruff Road and Irving Avenue in Upper Deerfield Township. The Legal Advocate

Victim identified

Police said the Honda was driven by a 33-year-old man from Bridgeton and carried multiple passengers, including Yerlimari Quinones, 38, of Bridgeton, who died from her injuries. Injuries and investigation

Authorities reported four other people were seriously injured, while the Tesla driver sustained minor injuries. As of press time, no charges had been filed, and the crash remains under investigation, state police said.
